Top Five Showdown Comes To Pepin Stadium
TAMPA, Fla - In a battle of unbeatens, the No. 4 University of Tampa men's soccer team (5-0-1, 1-0) is set to continue Sunshine State Conference play Saturday night at 7 p.m. against the No. 1 Lynn University Fighting Knights (10-0, 2-0).
This one-versus-four matchup has even higher implications than last season's one-versus-nine contest. The Fighting Knights enter the matchup with a 9-16-1 all-time series lead over the Spartans. Despite being outscored 10-4 by Lynn in three contests last season, Tampa earned the win in the NCAA II South Regional to advance to the quarterfinals and eventually to the final four.
Tampa's Pascal Milien leads all Spartans in goal-scoring with four while Dan Ingvarsson leads the team in assists with six. Lynn's Paolo Vaz enters the match with 15 goals, the highest in all of Division II.
