
Tampa Claims Third Spot In NSCAA Poll
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Following a victory over the nation's top-ranked team, The University of Tampa men's soccer team jumped one spot to No. 3 in the NSCAA Division II poll after spending last week in the fourth spot.
After opening the season at No. 3, the Spartans spent three weeks at the top spot before dropping. UT has remained in the top five for the entire season.
The Spartans stand at 6-0-1 after a 2-1 double overtime victory over No. 1 Lynn on Saturday. UT is now 2-0 in SSC play.
SSC opponent Lynn slipped to No. 14 as Cal State Los Angeles and Lees-McRae (N.C.) are the lone schools to appear ahead of the Spartans. Millersville and Southern New Hampshire round out the top five. SSC opponent Rollins comes in at No. 10.
UT has a pair of road games during the week before returning home for the weekend. The Spartans are at Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday and then Webber International on Wednesday. Tampa entertains Florida Southern on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
