#9 Tampa Looks To Close Out Regular Season With Win
TAMPA, Fla. - After being tabbed ninth in the latest NSCAA National Poll, the University of Tampa men's soccer team (13-1-1, 6-1) will conclude its regular season tomorrow with Senior Night against Sunshine State Conference opponent Saint Leo (6-8, 2-5) at 7 pm. The Spartans have been ranked in the top 10 in each of the regular season polls this year, including three weeks at number one.
Coming off three straight wins including a 2-0 shutout of Johnson and Wales on Monday night, the Spartans look to continue their 16 game home win streak that dates back to 2007 against the Lions. The two SSC squads last met last year when Saint Leo handed the Spartans their first loss of the 2008 season, a 3-1 defeat on the road.
Tampa is led by senior and top goal scorer Pascal Milien, who has tallied 10 goals to go along with three assists for 23 points. In goal for the Spartans is fellow senior Ryan Thompson who boasts an 11-1-1 record with three shutouts and a 0.89 goals against average. Kyle Williams will lead a backline that has allowed just 12 goals on the year so far.
