Alex Knaggs Nets Goal With National U-20 Team
CALI, Colombia - University of Tampa freshman men's soccer player Alex Knaggs scored a goal for the Trinidad & Tobago National U-20 team, as he is currently participating with the team in its training camp.
In a 3-1 victory over Depor FC on Thursday, Knaggs solidified the victory with an 81st minute goal.
A freshman midfielder from Port of Spain, Trinidad, Knaggs played in 13 games, starting three, for the Spartans in 2010. He ended the season with a game-winning goal over Georgia Southwestern on Sept. 5, to go with nine shots and two on goal.
T&T faces Cuba on March 30, followed by Mexico on April 1 at the Concacaf Final round in Guatemala City. Four teams from the 12-team tournament will advance to the 2011 FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Colombia.
The teams in the other competing groups include hosts Guatemala, Jamaica, Panama, Costa Rica, United States, Canada, Suriname, Honduras and Guadeloupe.
