Tyler Blackwood, Brian Fekete Earn First-Team All-Region Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. - University of Tampa men's soccer players Tyler Blackwood and Brian Fekete were both named to the Daktronics All-South Region men's soccer first team, as announced Monday.

Blackwood, a sophomore forward from London, England, led the Spartans with 11 goals. The Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year also netted four game-winning goals and finished with a team-high 24 points while starting all 17 matches.

Fekete, a senior defender from Plant City, Fla., is now a three-time all-region performer. The first-team all-SSC selection also started all 17 games and registered one goal and four assists with leading the team with 1,495 minutes. His lone goal also went down as a game-winner against Florida Tech.

Both players will now appear on the ballot for All-American honors with all first-team all-region players.

The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.

The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA).
