Brian Fekete Signs With Orlando City of USL
ORLANDO, Fla. - Brian Fekete, who just completed his senior season with the University of Tampa men's soccer team, has signed a professional contact with the Orlando City Soccer Club of the United Soccer Leagues (USL).
Fekete was a three-time All-American as a defender for the Spartans during his four-year career. He played in 69 career matches and concluded his career with seven goals and 15 assists, with a pair of game-winners. He ranks third in UT history with 5,460 minutes played.
The Plant City, Fla., native also excelled in the classroom as he was twice tabbed a Capital One Academic All-District selection. He was most recently named a first-team All-American for the 2012 season while also garnering first-team all-Sunshine State Conference laurels.
Orlando City has been in existence since 2010, and registered its first victory in a 1-0 triumph over the Philadelphia Union of the MLS in October of 2010. The team has also played several international friendly matches against teams including BK Hacken, Bolton Wanderers FC and Newcastle United.
Fekete joins former Spartan classmate Dominic Cutrofello in the USL as the latter recently signed with VSI Tampa Bay FC.
