Trio of Former Spartans Playing Professional Soccer
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer program continues to see its alums finding success at the professional level as Brian Fekete recently signed a pro contract with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL.
In addition to Fekete, former goalkeeper Ryan Thompson recently signed with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Another former Spartan, Pascal Millien, is currently playing professional soccer in Bangledash. Millien has also played for the Rowdies and in Europe.
Fekete, who spent last season with Orlando City, was a three-time All-American defender for the Spartans from 2009-12. He played 69 career games for UT, and currently ranks fourth in program history with 5,460 career minutes. He finished with seven goals and 15 assists.
Thompson, a four-year starter in goal for Tampa from 2006-09, played in 55 career games. He ranks first in school history with 38 wins and 251 saves. He is also in the program's top-10 in games played, games started, minutes played and GAA.
Millien was a three-year letterwinner for the Spartans, and ranks second all-time with 29 career assists. He concluded his UT career with 25 goals and 29 assists.
