The No. 24 University of Tampa (6-3-1) men's soccer team defeated Palm Beach Atlantic University (6-2-2) by a score of 3-0.
"We scored some fantastic goals tonight and this was a great team effort," says head coach Adrian Bush. "All this week, we looked at bringing more intensity and the boys responded very well. We showed great depth in our roster and we must gear all focus to a strong Florida Tech team on Wednesday."
Senior Andrew Clare netted the first goal of the night from 30 yards out assisted by junior Nasyir Rodriguez in the 33rd minute.
The Spartans managed to strike again in the 50th minute from junior Keith Francisco.
Tampa's offense kept up the pressure as senior Daniel Barboto connected on his first goal of the season in the 57th minute.
The Spartan defense held the Sailfish scoreless with Freshman Zak Downes earning three saves on the night.
Nicolai Hammer and Jason Collister also contributed to the Tampa attack with five and two shots respectively.
