The University of Tampa (8-4-2, 2-3-1 SSC) men's soccer team defeated Nova Southeastern (5-5-1, 2-4 SSC) by a final score of 2-0 on Saturday night.
Both teams were held scoreless in the first half with defenses controlling the tempo.
In the 66th minute junior Keith Francisco put Tampa on the board scoring the first goal of the night assisted by junior Nikolai Hammer.
The Spartans continued to pressure the Sharks with Nikolai Hammer netting the game's final score in the 89th minute. Senior Kevin Knowles found his teammate on the second goal, sealing the Spartan victory.
Freshman Zak Downes facilitated the Spartan defense managing nine saves on the night.
Senior Alex Knaggs and junior Nasyir Rodriguez evenly contributed to Tampa's offense with one shot on goal.
