Spartans Host Tampa Bay Rowdies in Annual Fitz Fest

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team is hosting the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the 11th annual Fitz Fest on Wednesday at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex.

The matchup is set to start at 7:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. The 2015 Fitz Fest marks the fourth annual contest between the Spartans and Rowdies.

Fans can purchase tickets at the gate, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Adults are $10 and children (17 and under) are $5. UT students are free with a donation.

The men's soccer program aspires to generate one full scholarship each year in Tom Fitzgerald's name, as the Tom Fitzgerald Scholarship Fund endowment was started in 2005.

After playing with the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Tom Fitzgerald started his coaching career as an assistant coach at the University of Tampa under legendary coach Jay Miller. Fitzgerald went on to win the Division II NCAA Championship in 1994 and also won a Division I National Championship as a head coach with UCLA. Fitzgerald's legacy at the University of Tampa will be here forever and all proceeds from this game will go to the Tom Fitzgerald scholarship fund.

Fans are asked to come out and support a great night of soccer in honor of coach Fitzgerald.
