Spartans Move Up in NSCAA Rankings
After defeating CSU 4-0, the team moved up three spots in the second week of rankings
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After continuing its winning start to the season with a 4-0 victory over Clayton State University, the Spartans moved up three spots in the Top 25 rankings as released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
The team hosted the CSU Lakers on Friday night and used a three-goal second half to run away with the victory. Senior Jason Collister scored the first two goals for the team while Jake Winship and Chris Dusabe accounted for the other two tallies.
Teams that are also ranked that are on the schedule for the Spartans this season include Lynn University (2nd), Saint Leo University (9th), and Barry University (13th). Rollins College was named among those also receiving votes with one vote.
This week, the team has two matches, both away from home. Tonight, they will take on Warner University in Lake Wales, Fla. at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Sunshine State Conference schedule begins as they travel to take on Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. at 7 p.m.
