Tampa Continues Rising in the NSCAA Top 25
The Spartans are ranked #15 in the latest edition of the NSCAA rankings
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With two more wins in the books that helped the team to its best start to the regular season since 1997, the Spartans continued their rise in the Top 25 as released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America today and are now ranked 15th, moving up six spots from last week's rankings.
The team had a pair of road games last week against Warner University and Nova Southeastern, the latter being the first conference match of the season. Against Warner, the team ran away with an 8-0 victory as seven different players scored for UT. Against NSU, Tampa forward Fredinho Mompremier scored a penalty kick in the 9th minute for the only goal of the game.
Teams that are also ranked that are on the schedule for the Spartans this season include Lynn University (2nd) Barry University (11th), and Rollins College (22nd). Florida Tech was named among those also receiving votes with one vote.
This week, the team has just one game scheduled as they travel to visit #22 Rollins College in a Top 25 matchup. The two teams will face off in Winter Park, Fla. on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
