
No. 7 UT Set to Host Rival No. 15 Lynn for Midweek Match
The Spartans will be looking to maintain their undefeated record this season
TAMPA, Fla. – A pair of top-5 teams in the Sunshine State Conference are set to face off on Wednesday as the No.7 University of Tampa Spartans will host the No.15 Lynn University Fighting Knights for a 5 p.m. match. The Spartans come into the match carrying a ten-game home winning streak going back to last season.
The Matchup: No. 7 University of Tampa (6-0-2, 2-0-1 SSC) vs. No. 15 Lynn University (8-1-1, 3-1-1 SSC)
• The Spartans and Knights enter the contest as the No. 2 and No. 3 offenses in the SSC as Tampa is averaging 3.25 goals per game as a team while Lynn comes into the match averaging 2.9 goals per game.
• Tampa is the only SSC team that remains undefeated overall this season and is one of two conference teams (provisional SSC member Palm Beach Atlantic being the other) to be undefeated in conference matches.

Last Time Out: UT came from behind to draw 2-2 against Embry-Riddle in 2OT as neither side could find a winner after the 90 minutes of regulation play. Chris Dusabe scored the first goal for Tampa in the 50th minute and Fredinho Mompremier tied the match in the 80th minute off a shot from the middle of the box.
About the Spartans: Freshman Lewis Sugden is tied for the SSC lead in assists per game with an average of .750, with six in eight games played. Mompremier is tied for second in the conference in goals scored with eight so far this season. Mompremier is also tied for second in game-winning goals at three having played three games less than the leading scorer in the conference. Defensively, goalkeeper Jake Richards leads the conference in goals against with an average of .608
About the Knights: LU is led by forward Jack Watson who has 11 goals and four assists in the ten games. The red-shirt junior is also leading in total shots with 35 and has seven game-winners. Watson is coming off a two-goal performance against No. 24 Florida Tech on Saturday, October 1st at home. Junior Alexander Roth has played every minute between the posts and has allowed nine goals while recording 36 saves and maintaining four shutouts.
Series History: Tampa trails in the all-time series between the two schools with 13 victories to Lynn's 22 and there has also been one draw. In the last meeting between the two squads, the Knights defeated Tampa 2-1 in Boca Raton, Fla as the home side came back from a 1-0 deficit to win the match.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Florida Southern regular season athletic events are $5 for adults and $3 for Seniors, Military and visiting students. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge.
