Homecoming Crowd Treated to UT Scoring Outburst
Fredinho Mompremier scored two goals in the win over No. 8 Barry.
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 23 ranked University of Tampa men's soccer team put on a show in front of a season-high attendance and Homecoming crowd with a 4-1 victory over No. 8 Barry University.

All-time Series: Tampa leads the all-time series between the two schools with a 21-12-3 record against the Bucs. The Spartans have won three straight in the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | Tampa's Homecoming match started off strong for the Spartans with a goal from Lewis Sugden in the 14th minute. He received a perfect pass from Troy Tucker, who was credited with the assist. Despite Tampa carrying the lead, Barry led the Spartans 3 to 2 in shots. As the half came to an end, Barry was not able to put the ball in the back of the net. The Spartans were able to hold their 1-0 lead as the half came to a close.
2nd Half | The Buccaneers were able to tie the game with a goal from Manuel Perez in the 51st minute of play. The tie would last for just over 11-minutes as Fredinho Mompremier netted the ultimate game-winner in the 62nd minute. Teammate Jon Tiggs notched the assist. Bay Downing would add a goal from Sugden in the 84th minute as Mompremier would connect on his second goal of the night with just 22-seconds remaining in the game. Freshman Chris Dusabe was credited with the assist.
INSIDE THE STATS:
• Tampa owned a 10-9 advantage in shots, and a 7-6 edge in shots on goal. The Buccaneers took five corner kicks compared to zero for the Spartans.
• Sugden led the team with five shots, as four were on target. Mompremier tallied three and two respectively.
• Goalkeeper Jake Richards played the entire match, finishing with four saves.
• UT was without its second leading scorer Jason Collister for the third match in a row.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• The match was part of Homecoming. UT men's soccer also had several alumni on hand, raising more than $20,000 for Spartan soccer.
• Friday's crowd of 547 marked a season-best.
• Richards started his ninth match of the season, as the freshman has now started three consecutive contests.
• The four-goal effort for the Spartans was the most since scoring eight at Warner on September 13.
• Sugden's goal tied him for second on the team with Collister. The freshman has tallied at least one point in eight matches this season.
• Mompremier has now scored multiple goals on three occasions during his sophomore campaign. He also scored twice against West Florida and Warner.
