UT concluded its regular season against nation's 12th-ranked team.
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 23 University of Tampa men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 loss to No. 12 Palm Beach Atlantic University in its regular-season finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | The Sailfish struck for a pair of first-half goals, coming in the 16th minute from Felipe Clavijo and the 26th minute from Charlie Dennis. PBA held a decisive 16-5 advantage in shots.
2nd Half | Tampa turned it around in the second half, outshooting its opponent 8-6. The lone blemish was a late goal by PBA's Fredo Dilbert in the 83rd minute.
INSIDE THE STATS:
• PBA outshot Tampa 22-13. The Sailfish also registered 15 shots on goal compared to five by the Spartans.
• Fredinho Mompremier led Tampa with four shots, including one on target.
• A game after registering 10 saves, Richard Trench earned the start and responded with a new career high of 12. Trench has now tallied 22 combined saves in his last two games, each coming against nationally-ranked teams.
• The Sailfish took five corner kicks, as Tampa had four. UT was assessed 13 fouls as PBA was given six.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Trench's 12 saves ranks sixth in the Tampa single-game records. The school record of 15 was achieved by Ryan Thompson on two occasions.
• Tampa closed its regular season against a pair of nationally-ranked teams. The Spartans came away 1-1 in those games, defeating No. 22 Florida Tech and falling to No. 12 Palm Beach Atlantic.
• In the second installment of the NCAA Division II South Region rankings, Tampa was listed in fifth place. Ahead of UT are Lynn, Palm Beach Atlantic, Florida Tech and Mississippi College. The top four teams from the South are selected for postseason play.
• Wednesday's match served as senior day for Tampa, who honored its seven seniors in a ceremony prior to the match. Those recognized were Ben Alpern, Jack Cicchini, Mike Ciluffo, Jason Collister, Jon Tiggs, Troy Tucker and Jake Winship.
UP NEXT:
Tampa will await pairings for the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Tournament. It currently sits at fourth-place in the league. The top six teams advance to the tournament, with the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye.
