Spartans Host Barry in Tuesday Night SSC Tournament Action
Head coach Adrian Bush has guided his teams to two SSC tournament titles.
MELBOURNE, Fla. - [Bracket] - Seeding is set for the 2016 Sunshine State Conference Men's Soccer Championship. Quarterfinals will take place Tuesday, November 1 at campus sites. SSC provisional member and No. 1 seed Palm Beach Atlantic University will host the semifinals on Friday, November 4 and the championship final on Sunday, November 6.

Palm Beach Atlantic (12-3-1, 7-1-1) secured the No. 1 seed by posting a total of 22 points in SSC matches. The Sailfish claimed the top spot over Lynn University (13-1-1, 7-1-1) by way of tiebreakers. The Sailfish and Fighting Knights will receive a quarterfinal round bye.
Quarterfinal #1 – FLORIDA TECH vs. ECKERD
#6 Eckerd College (7-5-3, 3-4-2) at #3 Florida Tech (11-3-1, 6-3-0)
Florida Tech defeated Eckerd, 3-2, on September 17th during conference play. Six Panthers had points in the FIT victory. The two squads met again in a non-conference match on October 18th. Adin Kavara scored three times in Florida Tech's 5-1 win.
In the last 10 meetings between the programs, Florida Tech holds a 7-1-2 advantage dating back to October 2011. The Tritons last defeated the Panthers on October 5th, 2011 (2-1). This year marks the second time in the last three years the programs have met three times in one season.
Winner of this matchup will face No. 2 Lynn on November 4 at 4:30 pm. The semifinal match will be hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic.
Quarterfinal #2 - TAMPA vs. BARRY
#5 Barry University (10-5-0, 4-5-0) at #4 University of Tampa (9-4-2, 4-4-1)
On September 17th, Tampa defeated Barry in a 4-1 in Tampa. Fredinho Mompremier scored twice during his 70 minutes in the Spartans' victory.
Since 2010, Tampa and Barry have met 11 times. The Spartans came away with a win seven times during the series, while the squads tied once. The Buccaneers last defeated the Spartans on September 22nd, 2010 in Tampa (1-0). This is the first SSC playoff match between the programs since November 5, 2010.
Winner of this quarterfinal matchup will be hosted by No. 1 Palm Beach Atlantic on November 4 at 7:00 pm.
