Tampa Hosts Thomas
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team is set to square-off versus Thomas (Ga.) University in a matchup of the suns between the Sunshine State Conference Spartans and The Sun Conference (NAIA) Night Hawks.

About the Spartans: Tampa is coming off a win-loss weekend with a 4-2 victory over Flager College on Thursday and a 1-0 defeat against Clayton State on Saturday. Both matches were home games for the Spartans who fed off the energy of a jam-packed student section. Through three contests the Spartans have only allowed 5 goals on the season. The Spartans are led by Senior Rojay Smith who recorded a goal and a pair of assists against Flagler. Ryan King scored the deciding goal for the Clayton State Lakers on Saturday. He is currently in the lead for the Men's DII Golden Boot with 7 goals through 4 games. The Spartans held the Lakers to one goal in the matchup after the Lakers came into the contest leading the nation with 14 goals through 3 games. Clayton St remains unranked.
About the Night Hawks: Thomas started the season with an 11-0 embarrassment of the Trinity Baptist College Eagles. The lopsided victory has been followed by four straight defeats for the Night Hawks including two against nationally-ranked opponents, # 12 Georgia Gwinnett College and #21 Bethel University. Most recently, the Night Hawks were edged out on the road 2-1 by RV University of Mobile (Ala.). The Rams of Mobile improved to 6-0 on the season with the victory. The Night Hawks continue their road tour with their fifth straight contest away from Thomasville. The Night Hawks have had 10 different goal-scorers on the season and are led by Gavin Rochford-Smith. The Senior from Bath, England has four goals on the young season.
All-Time Series: Tampa owns a narrow 3-2 lead in the all-time series dating back to 2002. The teams will meet for the first time since the 2011 season. The Night Hawks won in 2011 by one, 4-3.
Tickets: General Admission ticket prices for all Tampa regular season athletic events are $5. Youth (ages 12 and under) are admitted free of charge. Students and faculty/staff are admitted free with a valid UT ID.
