Spartans Post Back-to-Back Shutouts, Tame Tigers 4-0
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans men's soccer team earned its second consecutive shutout against the University of West Alabama Tigers at Pepin Stadium. The Spartans improve to 2-1 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The Spartans opened the match with a frenzied attack, owning the matches first four shots, one of which found the back of the net off the foot of junior Travis Foster in the 21st minute. Just 40 seconds later, junior Juancho Fernandez nearly buried another by was stopped by the Tigers keeper. The Spartans scored two goals in a 60 second span when sophomore Max Brennan (assisted by junior Omar Thali) finished his first of the season in the 22nd minute. Junior Till Neumann put Tampa up 3-0 in the 39th minute (unassisted). The Spartans outshot the Tigers in the opening half 8-2. Score: 3-0 Tampa
SECOND HALF: The Tigers rallied in the second half, outshooting the Spartans 9-8, but failed to finish a goal. They had two quality chances in the 45th and 61st minute but were met by graduate student goalkeeper Adam Forster. Foster scored his second unassisted goal of the game in the 87th minute. Final: 4-0 Tampa
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Travis Foster has matched his 2019-20 single season high of two goals scored in just three games this season.
- Till Neumann scored his first goal of the year.
- Max Brennan's goal at 22' was the first of his career.
- UT outshot the Tigers 16-11.
- Four Spartans played a full 90 minutes: Adam Forster, junior Albert Morales, junior Agustin Baroffio, and sophomore Cody Wells.
- Adam Forster earned his second clean sheet of the season and tallied four saves.
