Two Spartans Named USC All-Americans as Forster Named to South-Region First Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches (USC) named three Spartans to the All-South Region after their solid 2021 season. Adam Forster, Juancho Fernandez, and Omar Thali earned a spot on the All-South Region first team after their strong performances this season. Fernandez and Thali also earn spots on the USC All-American team.
Forster receives first team recognition after his role defensively for the Spartans this season, appearing in 17 games. He recorded 13 wins, tallied 44 saves, and nine shutouts with a .733 save percentage this season.
Fernandez earns first team honors after playing a crucial piece to the Spartans offensive success, compiling 22 points this season, scoring nine goals, six being game-winners, and tallying four assists. Additionally, Fernandez was named to the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-American first team for this season's performance.
Thali was named to the All-South Region first team after netting ten of the Spartans 30 goals this season, five being game-winners and registering seven assists, totaling 27 points on the season. Thali also earned a spot on the 2021 United Soccer Coaches All-American second team after his success for the Spartans this season.
