Tampa Offense explodes on Road Against Lander

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The University of Tampa men's soccer team defeats the Lander Bearcats on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

FIRST HALF: The game began with Ornaldo Zeqiri finding Omar Thali in front of the net to put the Spartans on the board three minutes in. The Bearcats found the back of the net in the thirteenth minute, tying the match at one. Both teams continued to battle, leaving the matchup tied at one goal headed into the half. Score: 1-1 Tie

SECOND HALF: The second half opened with both teams continuing to find shooting opportunities. Juancho Fernandez opened the scoring for the half, after his shot ended up in the net in the 52^nd minute. The Spartan lead would not last long, as the Bearcats would score on a penalty shot to tie the match at two. Just 21 seconds later, Ornaldo Zeqiri scored his first goal of the season to put the Spartans in the lead once again. Fernandez found Travis Foster with 22 minutes remaining to build the Spartans' lead to two. In the end, the Bearcats could not solve the Spartan defense. Final: 4-2 Tampa
