Spartans Fall to Conference Opponent at Home

HOW IT HAPPENED:

FIRST HALF: The game began with a few weather delays that sent both teams back to the locker rooms. The Spartans came out of the weather delay strong, recording a couple of early shots on goal. Tampa's Pablo Marques recorded five shots on goal about halfway through the half. The Spartans outshot the Lions 13-4, but the teams remained knotted at zero headed into the half.

Score: 0-0 Tie

SECOND HALF: The second half opened with a sense of urgency from the Tampa offense. Senior midfielder Carlos Ledon recorded a shot in the 53^rd minute of the match that went just above the crossbar. The Spartans controlled the possession for majority of the match, dominating the shots. In the 76^th minute of the match, the Lions found the back of the net to open the scoring, and seal the game.
