HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The game began with a few weather delays that sent both teams back to the locker rooms. The Spartans came out of the weather delay strong, recording a couple of early shots on goal. Tampa's Pablo Marques recorded five shots on goal about halfway through the half. The Spartans outshot the Lions 13-4, but the teams remained knotted at zero headed into the half.

SECOND HALF: The second half opened with a sense of urgency from the Tampa offense. Senior midfielder Carlos Ledon recorded a shot in the 53rd minute of the match that went just above the crossbar. The Spartans controlled the possession for majority of the match, dominating the shots. In the 76th minute of the match, the Lions found the back of the net to open the scoring, and seal the game.
