Spartans Fall to Top Ranked Fighting Knights On the Road

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's soccer team falls to #1 Lynn on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

FIRST HALF: The match began with each team eager to score first in this top 20 conference match. After a few shots by Lynn and saves by goalkeeper Alex Hare, the teams went into the half tied at zero.

Score: 0-0 Tie

SECOND HALF: The second half opened with Tampa and Lynn eager to find the back of the net. In the 53^rd minute, Pablo Marques recorded a shot on goal forcing the Fighting Knights' goalkeeper to make a save. Just 20 minutes later, Lynn opened the scoring for the match. A few seconds later, Rodrigo Lopes recorded a shot of his own that forced the Lynn goalkeeper to make a save. The Fighting Knights netted one more late goal to decide the match.

Final: 2-0 Lynn
