HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The match began with each team eager to score first in this conference duel. In the 12th minute, the Spartans recorded a shot on goal that narrowly missed the net. Soon after, Florida Southern opened the scoring with a goal fired at the top right of the net. With 15 minutes left before the half, Tampa recorded another shot on goal forcing the Florida Southern goalkeeper to make a save. Spartans' goalkeeper Alex Hare made a diving save in the closing minutes of the first half to keep the Mocs' lead at one.
Score: 1-0 Florida Southern
SECOND HALF: The second half opened with Tampa eager to get on the scoreboard. Tampa dominated ball possession for majority of the half, creating scoring chances. Graduate student Lorenz Offner made a shot on goal that the goalkeeper had to save. The Spartans continued to keep the ball and create chances, but it was too late.
