HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The match began the Spartans taking control of possession early, spending time in the attacking third. Tampa recorded shots on goal early, behind Viggo Svedin and Theo Maye, causing the Nova Southeastern goalkeeper to get to work. In the 11th minute, goalkeeper Alex Hare made a jumping save to keep the Sharks off the board. The Spartans continued to apply pressure to the Sharks' defense. With 19 minutes left before the half freshman Alex Dollard recorded a shot in the top center of the net, forcing the Sharks' goalkeeper to make a one handed save. The Spartans' offense continued to create chances, as Rodrigo Lopes had a shot bounce off the post and out of the net soon after. With three seconds left before the half, Nova Southeastern opened the scoring to head into the break with the lead.

SECOND HALF: The second half opened with Tampa eager to get on the scoreboard. In the 51st minute, Maye recorded another shot to keep applying pressure to the Sharks' back line. Soon after, Svedin found Dollard in front of the net to set up a shot that forced the Nova Southeastern goalkeeper to make a save. In the 69th minute, Maye would score the equalizer for Tampa off a penalty kick. The teams would remain tied at one a piece at the end of 90 minutes.
Final: 1-1 Tie
