Tampa Falls to No.1 Lynn in Double Overtime Battle
BOCA RATON, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's soccer team falls in double overtime to No.1 Lynn.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: The match began with each team prepared for battle in this semifinal matchup. Ball possession was shared equally by both teams, with Tampa's defense keeping Lynn out of the attacking third in the first 10 minutes. The Spartans earned the first corner kick of the match early, applying pressure on the Fighting Knights. In the 21st minute, goalkeeper Alex Hare made his first save of the night to keep Lynn off the scoreboard. The teams continued to create chances and pressure each other, but the defensive play proved sturdy on each side, and the teams would head into halftime scoreless.
Score: 0-0 Tie
SECOND HALF: The second half opened with high intensity, as the Spartans were looking to open the scoring. In the 47th minute, junior Viggo Svedin recorded an early shot on goal that was blocked by the Fighting Knights' defense. Goalkeeper Hare made a jumping save in the 58th minute to keep the match tied at zero goals a piece, giving the Spartans a chance to score first. After a couple more saves from Hare and blocked shots by the defense to keep Lynn off the board, regulation time ran out and the teams headed to overtime.
End of Regulation: 0-0 Tie
Overtime 1: The extra 10 minutes began with the Fighting Knights recording an early shot that was off target. Soon after, Alexandre Badji and Pablo Marques each recorded shots for the Spartans to get some momentum back. With 3 minutes left, Christian Fairchild recorded a shot on goal that forced the Lynn goalkeeper to make a save. In the 99th minute Hare continued his brilliant play, saving a late shot to send Tampa into overtime two.
Overtime 2: The second 10 minutes began with Svedin recording a quick shot to set the tone. In the 107th minute, the Fighting Knights found the back of the net to take the win.
Final: 1-0 Lynn 2 OT
