#2 Emory Takes Pair From Tampa
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams dropped a pair of decisions to national powerhouse Emory University on Monday afternoon at the UT Swimming Complex.
The meet featured a pair of nationally ranked teams in both races, with UT ranked No. 14 on the men's side and No. 15 in women's. Emory is represented in the NCAA Division III poll at No. 2 by both its men and women. EU won the women's race 207.5-37.5 and the men's side 172-73.
UT won three men's races, with senior Chris O'Linger winning a pair of races in his final home meet for the Spartans. O'Linger championed both the 200 Free (1:45.72) and 500 Free (4:41.66).
David Humphrey also turned in a first-place performance for the Spartans, winning the 50 Free in a time of 21.63.
Tampa returns to action on Sat., Jan. 22 when it travels to Indian River College for an 11 a.m. meet. The event is the final competition of the regular season before advancing to the Sunshine State Conference and NCAA Championships.
