
Spartans Close Home Season With Pair of Wins
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams both defeated Sunshine State Conference opponent Rollins College by scores of 109-87 (men) and 114-77 (women).
The Spartans women started the meet with a 200 Medley Relay title from Lindsay Calimer, Michelle Walcker, Emily Grams and Heather Glenday. The group won in 1:54.51.
Tampa's women also had first-place times from Grams in the 200 Free (2:01.93), Briana Murphy in the 50 Free (25.96), Alex Hipolito in the 400 IM (4:37.45), Hilary Stetekluh in the 100 Fly (1:02.77), Glenday in the 100 Free (56.09) and Calimer in the 100 Back (1:02.18).
UT's men also won its first race, placing first in the 200 Medley Relay. Jason Khoury, Jeff Fiore, Felipe Manzo and Kevin Doran were each a part of the group that finished in 1:39.96.
Also winning for Tampa's men were Jonathan Wilks in the 50 Free (22.69), Zane Hranac in the 400 IM (4:20.23), Manzo in the 100 Fly (53.95), Norbert Kovacs in the 100 Back (53.46) and Jeff Cook in the 500 Free (4:58.07).
Tampa has one regular-season meet remaining, as it will travel to Indian River State College on Saturday at 11 a.m.
