Swimming Competes in Double-Dual Meet
FORT PIERCE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams competed in a double-dual meet against Indian River State College and, SSC opponent, Nova Southeastern.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The meet totaled 28 swimming events, including 14 for the men and 14 for the women.
TOP PERFORMERS (MEN):
- Coleman Kramer took third in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 9:43.86.
- Parker Knollman was the runner up in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:43.92.
- In the 50 Yard Backstroke, Jimmy Senese placed second at 24.42 and Patrick Fly placed third at 24.49.
- Jared Mindek took third in the 50 Yard Breaststroke turning in a time of 27.39.
- Nick Fauteux took home first in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 50.94.
- The runner up in the 50 Yard Free was Mikael Haugen, finishing at 21.22.
- In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Marvin Slanschek finished second with a time of 46.41. Brian Daugherty came in third at 47.13.
- Hugo Bustamante took second in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 52.04. Haugen finished third at 52.88.
- Senese placed second in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 22.72. Fauteux took third at 22.81.
- Slanschek took first in the 100 Yard IM with a time of 52.15. Gabe Parnell finished just behind at 52.65.
- The Men's 200 Freestyle Relay with Bustamante, Senese, Daugherty, and Haugen took first with a time of 1:23.35.
TOP PERFORMERS (WOMEN):
- Alexa Turco took first in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:44.88. Jessie Tobin finished second with a time of 10:45.01.
- In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Megan Goldthorpe took first with a time of 1:57.65.
- Mady Barnes took third in the 50 Yard Backstroke with a time of 27.95.
- Elizaveta Bazarova was the runner up in the 50 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 29.56. Julia Augustsson finished just behind at 30.34.
- In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Courtney Sherwood earned second finishing with a time of 58.51.
- Erika DiPietro placed third in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 24.87.
- Bazarova took first in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 52.73. DiPietro placed third at 54.00.
- In the 100 Yard Backstroke, Barnes took third with a time of 1:00.12
- Augustsson took second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:05.13.
- In the 500 Yard Freestyle, Holly Wessel was the runner up with a time of 5:14.89. Goldthorpe took third at 5:16.16.
- Kristen Wagner took third in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 26.47.
UP NEXT:
The Spartans will visit West Palm Beach to take on Keiser on Friday, January 14. The meet will begin at 3:30pm.
