No. 5 Spartans Sweep Mocs in Lopsided Swim Meet

LAKELAND, Fla. - The No. 5 University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams continued their impressive start to the 2023-24 campaign, easily dismantling rival Florida Southern College on Saturday.

Top Tampa Swimmers (Women)

• 200 Yard Medley Relay: The Tampa Women's A team secured a victory in this relay with a time of 1:46.42, consisting of swimmers Sidni Meister, Stephanie Vogt, Isabelle Sering and Tilde Morin. The Tampa Women's B team was disqualified (DQ).
• 200 Yard Freestyle: Lindsey Louder from Tampa clinched the victory with a time of 1:55.65, while Ainsley Bennett from Florida Southern came in second.
• 100 Yard Backstroke: Sophie Frece earned another Tampa top performance with a first-place time of 59.26, as she was followed by teammates Kim McCaffrey  and Roma Vrijhof.
• 100 Yard Breaststroke: Julia Augustsson of Tampa secured first place with a time of 1:06.99, followed by Alizee Pelletier of Florida Southern.
• 50 Freestyle: Tampa freshman Delaney Mizell was the champion with a time of 23.33, while fellow Spartan Erika DiPietro was second.
• 100 Yard Freestyle: Tilde Morin of Tampa won with a time of 53.84, while Mady Barnes of Tampa secured second place.
• 200 Yard Backstroke: Sidni Meister continued her excellent day as the first to finish, being timed at 2:05.71.
• 200 Yard Breaststroke: Katie Ramsey was the top performer at 2:26.50.
• 500 Yard Freestyle: Laura Hodgson won the event at 5:08.99.
• 100 Yard Butterfly: Isabelle Sering from Tampa won with a time of 57.20.
• 200 Yard IM: Madysen Barnes from Tampa won with a time of 2:10.44, and Sidni Meister from Tampa came second.
• 400 Yard Freestyle Relay: Tampa won the final relay with a time of 3:34.95 coming from Isabelle Sering, Tilde Morin, Roma Vrijhof and Sierra Gillan.

Top Tampa Swimmers (Men)

• 200 Yard Medley Relay: Tampa's A team won with a time of 1:31.11, followed by Florida Southern's A team. The winning team for the Spartans included Santiago Corredor, Richy Polasek, Adrian Aguilar and Ian Cooper.
• 200 Yard Freestyle: Tampa's Caleb Brandon won with a time of 1:41.48, and Florida Southern's Gabriel Araya came in second.
• 1000 Yard Freestyle: Jacob Hamlin from Tampa secured first place with a time of 9:25.03.
• 100 Yard Backstroke: Tampa's Parker Knollman was victorious with a time of 50.40, while Florida Southern's Brandon Wilson was a close second.
• 100 Yard Breaststroke: Jared Mindek from Tampa won with a time of 56.87.
• 50 Yard Freestyle: Ian Cooper from Tampa won with a time of 20.44, followed by Blake Moran from Tampa.
• 100 Yard Freestyle: Ian Cooper from Tampa won with a time of 45.23, followed by Blake Moran from Tampa.
• 200 Yard Backstroke: Parker Knollman from Tampa secured another victory with a time of 1:50.74.
• 200 Yard Breaststroke: Richy Polasek championed the event in a time of 2:04.41.
• 500 Yard Freestyle: Santiago Corredor was tops in the race with a showing of 4:32.64, followed by Jacob Hamlin and Barnabas Fluck.
• 100 Yard Butterfly: Adrian Aguilar was the top performer with a time of 49.96.
• 200 Yard IM: Parker Knollman from Tampa won with a time of 1:54.69.
• 400 Yard Freestyle Relay: Tampa's A team won with a time of 3:01.62, followed by Tampa's B team. The winning Spartan team included Santiago Corredor, Tibor Tistan, Caleb Brandon and Blake Moran.
