Spartans Sweep Men's Events, Set Three Pool Records in Day One of Gamecock Invite
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The top-ranked University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams began the Gamecock Invite with a bang on Wednesday, capturing each of the five men's race top crowns, along with three pool records at the University of South Carolina. The Spartans established three new pool records at the Carolina Natatorium, doing so in the men's 200 Free Relay, men's 500 Free and the men's 400 Medley Relay.
Top Performers (Men)
- UT took first in the opening race, winning the 200 Free Relay over South Carolina and UNCW. A time of 1:17.84 came from Ian Cooper, Tibor Tistan, Caleb Brandon and Blake Moran.
- Santiago Corredor took first in men's 500 Free with a time of 4:19.34. Freshman Jacob Hamlin followed with second-place performance.
- Parker Knollman won the men's 200 IM, winning with time of 1:47.49.
- The Spartans took the top three spots in 50 Free, led by freshman Blake Moran with 19.71. Tibor Tistan and Ian Cooper followed in second and third.
- Tampa concluded day one of Gamecock Invite with a first-place finish in men's 400 Medley Relay. Parker Knollman, Richy Polasek, Adrian Aguilar and Blake Moran won for the Spartans with a time of 3:10.35.
Top Performers (Women)
- The Spartans began the meet with a fourth-place time of 1:33.23 in the 200 Free Relay from Isabelle Sering, Tilde Morin, Delaney Mizell and Sophie Frece.
- Laura Hodgson was the fastest Spartan in the 500 Free as the freshman had a time of 4:55.45 for a 12th-place finish.
- In the 200 IM, Madysen Barnes was fifth overall with a finals time of 2:01.88.
- The 50 Free had a third-place finish from Tama's Tilde Morin as she was clocked at 23.21.
- Tampa finished day one in the 400 Medley Relay, placing sixth with a time of 3:45.46 from Sidni Meister, Julia Augustsson, Isabelle Sering and Tilde Morin.

- Day two will begin with the prelims at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m.
- Finals events include the 200 Medley Relay, 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back and the 800 Free Relay.
