
UT Swimming Opens Competition at 2024 SSC Championships
OCALA, Fla. –The University of Tampa men's and swimming teams each registered medalist performances in the first day of the 2024 Sunshine State Conference Swimming Championships. The five day event is taking place at FAST Aquatics Center and began with the 800 Free Relay events on Wednesday.
In the women's 800 Free Relay, UT raced to a runner-up performance with a time of 7:30.23. The Spartans relay team included Roma Vrijhof, Lindsey Louder, Laura Hodgson and Kate Elnicki.
The Spartans then competed in the men's 800 Free Relay, also placing second to Nova Southeastern. A time of 6:29.46 came from Barnabas Fluck, Parker Knollman, Caleb Brandon and Santiago Corredor.
The championships resume on Thursday at 10 am with the Day 2 prelims.
