Gamecock Invite Complete With Spartan Men 2nd, Women 3rd
COLUMBIA, S.C. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams concluded action at the three-day Gamecock Invite, which was hosted by the University of South Carolina at the Carolina Natatorium. The Spartans finished second overall in men's action, while the women held steady throughout at third overall.

Top Tampa Swimmers (Men's)
- Jacob Hamlin sets his second NCAA Division II national record of the Gamecock Invite, swimming the 1,650 Free in 14:55.02 to finish second. He also became the first Spartan to swim a sub-15-minute mile.
- Parker Knollman raced to a fifth-place time of 1:44.33 in the 200 Back.
- Tibor Tistan, Rafael Ponce De Leon, and Caleb Brandon finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th, respectively, in the 100 Free. Tistan's time was 43.64.
- After setting the school record in 200 Breast in Friday's prelims, Jared Mindek bested his own mark with a time of 1:56.13 to finish fifth in the finals.
- Kenan Dean and Ian Morgan finish eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 200 Fly. Dean was clocked at 1:49.03.
- The Spartans capped the meet with a school record in the 400 Free Relay. Rafael Ponce De Leon, Tibor Tistan, Owen McLaughlin, and Caleb Brandon were timed at 2:52.38 in runner-up performance.
Top Tampa Swimmers (Women)
- Laura Hodgson opened the final day of the Gamecock Invite with a school record 16:47.29 in the 1,650 Free to finish seventh.
- Freshman Carlie Tyler placed 10th in the 200 Back with a time of 1:58.75.
- Tampa's Brooke Mahneke registered a time of 50.72 in the 100 Free to finish 12th in the event.
- Stephanie Vogt was the top Spartan swimmer in the 200 Breast, with a 17th-place time of 2:19.81.
- Freshman Burlingtyn Bokos narrowly missed a school record with a 1:59.68 finish in the 200 Fly to rank sixth among all swimmers.
- Tampa's women concluded the three-day event with a seventh-place 400 Free Relay finish. UT had a time of 3:22.86 from Brooke Mahneke, Sierra Gillan, Roma Vrijhof and Tilde Morin.

- The Spartans head back to Tampa, and will not be in action until a trip to Key Biscayne, Fla., for the Open H20, on Sunday, December 15.
