
Jacob Hamlin, Jimi Kiner Take Top SSC Honors
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference is pleased to announce the 2025 men's swimming individual awards. Jacob Hamlin and Jimi Kiner from the University of Tampa earn Swimmer of the Year and Coach of the Year honors, respectively. Lynn's Kamil Geisner garners Freshman of the Year accolades.
League coaches vote on the SSC Swimmer, Freshman, and Coach of the Year awards following the NCAA Division II National Championship. All-SSC swimmers were selected earlier this season following the conference championship meet, which was held February 12-16 at Florida Aquatics Swimming Training in Ocala.

Hamlin takes SSC Swimmer of the Year accolades after being named CSCAA National Swimmer of the Year following a dominant performance at the NCAA championship. The Orlando native won four individual national titles and one relay national championship and set four NCAA Division II Records and five SSC records. Hamlin is the third Spartan to be named Swimmer of the Year, following in the wake of Brett Saunders (2019-20) and Santiago Corredor (2022-23 & 2024-25).
The junior took home individual national titles in the 200 Free, 500 Free, 1000 Free, and 1650 Free. Hamlin set SSC records in all four events and NCAA D2 records in the 500, 1000, and 1650. He also piloted the Spartans to the NCAA Division II title and record in the 800 Free Relay. With Hamlin's efforts, UTampa finished as National Runner-Up.
2025 NCAA Meet Recap: SSC Swimmers Win 11 National Titles, Earn 246 All-America Honors
Geisner is honored as Freshman of the Year following a solid season for Lynn. The Siemianowice Slaskie, Poland native, capped the season with CSCAA Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 200 Fly and 800 Free Relay. The All-SSC Second Team swimmer also qualified for the national meet in the 200 Back. He becomes the second Fighting Knight to be named Freshman of the Year, joining Mohamed Masmoudi (2019-20).
SSC Records / Top Times | Men's Swimmers and Coaches of the Year
Kiner three-repeats as SSC Coach of the Year by a vote of his peers after leading the Spartans' program to the NCAA Division II Runner-Up finish and a third consecutive conference championship. Under Kiner's leadership, 11 Tampa men won a combined 47 All-America honors, and Tampa's program claimed its first CSCAA National Swimmer of the Year, and fourth SSC Swimmer of the Year honors. UT captured the conference's top time in 14 events this season, tallied nine overall league records, won five individual & one relay national championships, and set four NCAA D2 records. Kiner now owns four SSC Coach of the Year awards and remains the first UT coach to win the accolade in men's swimming.
