Spartans Men's Cross Country Competes in Pair of Races
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's cross country team competed in two races on Saturday, sending runners to the Paul Short Race in Bethlehem, Pa., and the Ave Maria Invitational in Ave Maria, Fla.
At Paul Short Run
- Tampa competed in the Men's College Brown 8K.
- The Spartans finished seventh overall as a total of 38 teams competed.
- Senior George Alexander was the fastest UTampa runner as he was 42nd overall with a time of 15:54.6.
- Ayden Estevez followed with a time of 15:58.3 to place 51st.
- Gabe McConville (16:02.1) and Nathan Reffitt (16:02.5) placed 59th and 61st respectively.
- Rounding out the Tampa top five was Aaron Engelhardt with a 16:10.0.
- A total of 321 runners finished the race.
At Ave Maria Invitational
- The Spartans were second overall.
- The 8K race included 13 teams and 114 runners.
- Freshman William Poe was the fastest Tampa runner with a time of 27:10.10 to finish ninth overall.
- Zach Kehler was timed at 27:37.70 to finish 12th.
- Nolan Bonta (28:09.90) and Hayden Reich (28:12.90) were 21st and 23rd respectively.
- Also finishing in the top five was Jackson Levine with a time of 28:32.30.
Up Next
The Spartans travel to Huntsville, Ala., to compete at the University of Alabama at Huntsville Invitational. The even will start at 8 a.m., on Saturday at John Hunt Park.
