
George Alexander, Gabe McConville Register School Record Times at UAH Invite
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - At the University of Alabama at Huntsville Chargers Invitational, the University of Tampa men's cross country team put in a solid performance in the 8000m race, placing 11th overall with a total of 271 points. The Spartans were among 35 teams competing at the event.
Top Tampa Runners
- George Alexander established a new school record in the 8K, as he finished 34th with a time of 24:41.80.
- He was closely followed by Gabe McConville, finishing 37th at 24:43.80. McConville's time was also faster than the previous school record, which dated back to 2010.
- Aaron Engelhardt returned to action and came in 43rd with a time of 24:55.60.
- Ayden Estevez was 70th with a time of 25:12.60.
- Freshman William Poe turned in an impressive time of 25:36.60 to finish 101st overall.

With the regular season complete, Tampa will be back in action on Friday, October 25 at the 2024 Sunshine State Conference Championships, which will be held at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla. The men's race will begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by the women's championship at 8:45 a.m.
