Mavericks Buck Off Spartans
Freshman Claire Swanson had two goals, two caused turnovers, two draw controls and one ground ball in the contest.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's lacrosse team was outscored by one goal to Colorado Mesa University.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half
- It took the Spartan offense less than two minutes to jump on the board. Senior Amanda Voges took advantage of a free position and converted it into a goal.
- Colorado Mesa answered with two goals to take the lead.
- With 19:12 on the clock, Caroline Forester with an assist from Amanda Rom tied the score at 2-2.
- The Mavericks come back with another goal to take a 3-2 lead.
- Another goal from Colorado Mesa makes it 4-2 going into half time.
2nd Half
- Colorado Mesa tacks on another goal to start the second half, now leading 5-2.
- Freshman Claire Swanson answers back to bring the score to 5-3.
- The Mavericks respond to take back the three-goal lead.
- A Tampa goal from Forester on an assist from Rom make it 6-4.
- Swanson with her second goal of the game, assisted by Rom makes it a one goal game.
- Mavericks take a three-goal lead with 16:46 left on the clock.
- Another goal from Colorado Mesa makes it 9-5.
- Voges takes advantage of a free position again to decrease the deficit to 9-6.
- A Mavericks goal makes it 10-6.
- Tampa converts another free position attempt to a goal with Shannon Sweeney.
- Maggie Gladden also converts the free position for Tampa.
- Voges strikes again to bring the game within one goal, Colorado Mesa leading 10-9 with just over four minutes left in play.
