Tampa Drops Season Opener

Daytona Beach, Fla. - Embry-Riddle handed the University of Tampa tennis team, the numer-28 team in the nation, a 6-3 loss in its season opener. The Spartans won two singles matches and one doubles match. Tampa falls to 0-1 on the season, as Embry-Riddle improves to 1-0.
Emily Kennedy gave the Spartans their first singles win of the
day, winning in straight set 6-4 and 6-1. Kennedy also teamed up
with Caitlin Scudder to give the Spartans their lone win doubles
play.
The Spartans are on the road again tomorrow, as they travel to
Melbourne to take on Florida Tech. Play is schedule to begin at
12:30 pm.
