Spartans End Break With Loss To #15 Florida Southern
TAMPA, Fla. - Playing its first match in 11 days, the No. 37 University of Tampa (2-8, 1-5 SSC) tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 15 Florida Southern College (10-0, 2-0 SSC) in a Sunshine State Conference matchup.
Tampa nearly pulled off an upset in both the number five and six singles matches. Ally Wooten and Briana Ryan were each defeated in tight third set tie breaks.
UT returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts defending NJCAA national champion Hillsborough Community College. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the UT Tennis Complex.
