Defending NJCAA National Champs Too Much For Spartans
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 37 University of Tampa women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to two-time defending NJCAA national champion Hillsborough Community College. The Hawks are currently the No. 1 team in the junior college ranks.
Tampa earned a default victory at the number-three doubles spot as the team of Ally Wooten and Briana Ryan were awarded a win.
In singles, Wooten and Ryan also notched wins at the number five and six spots respectively. Wooten's win was 6-3, 7-5 as Ryan won by default.
The Spartans travel to West Palm Beach on Saturday to meet NCAA South region opponent Palm Beach Atlantic University at 2 p.m.
