#40 Tampa Wins Second Straight Match
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 40 University of Tampa (2-6) tennis team won its second straight contest, defeating Ohio Northern University (1-1) by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday at the UT Tennis Complex.
The Spartans won all three doubles matches, with the number-one team of Leslie Raymond and Nikol Williams winning by a score of 9-8 with a tie-break score of 7-3. UT's number-two team of Megan Mancini and Maddie Caropino also won along with Briana Ryan and Amber Fahrner at the three spot.
Raymond also headlined the Spartan singles effort with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number-one singles. Mancini won at the two spot while Ryan and Victoria Simon registered wins from the four and six positions.
Tampa heads to Orlando, Fla., where it will play three spring break matches, beginning Friday at 2 p.m., versus Flagler College.
