Hot Start Continues For Spartan Tennis
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (2-0) won its second match in as many days as it handed St. Petersburg College (0-1) a 7-2 setback on Saturday at the UT Tennis Complex.
Tampa began play with a pair of doubles wins, coming from the number-two team of Leslie Raymond and Lauren Hewett and the three team of Thashia Garcia and Briana Ryan.
The Spartans were nearly perfect in singles, winning five of the six matches. The lone SPC victory came at the number-one spot. Garcia, Raymond, Hewett, Megan Mancini and Jenelle Morgan were each victorious for head coach Al DuFaux's squad.
UT returns to action on Wednesday as it plays host to St. Leo University at 3 p.m.
