Singles-Play Lifts Spartans Over Walsh
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 43 University of Tampa
(2-5) tennis team came-back for a 5-4 victory over Walsh
University, Ohio (1-6) on Thursday at the Naimoli & Young
Family Tennis Complex.
Tampa headed to singles play with a 2-1 deficit as the lone doubles
win for UT came at number one. The duo of Kelsey Matthews and
Kristen Mee claimed an 8-6 victory.
In singles action, Mee and Matthews were also both victorious, in
the number one and three matches respectively. Mee took the
center-court victory by a score of 7-5, 6-4 as Matthews won 6-0.
6-2.
Cameron Moskol and Jenelle Morgan also helped tip the match in
favor of the Spartans, winning the five and six matches by score of
6-2, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-3 respectively.
The Spartans will next host Minnesota State University-Mankato on
Sunday at 11 a.m.
