Spartans Win Fourth Straight
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 45 University of Tampa (5-5) tennis team picked up its fourth consecutive win with an easy 8-1 victory over Stonehill College on Wednesday morning at the Naimoli & Young Family Tennis Complex.
The number-one doubles team of Kristen Mee and Kelsey Matthews took an 8-0 win, and was followed by wins from the two team of Gianna Pinasco and Emily Hewland (8-1) and the three team of Jenelle Morgan and Cameron Moskol (8-1).
In singles play, Mee took the main court victory in straight sets. Matthews won 6-0, 6-0 at number two as Moskol and Morgan also blanked their opponents at five and six repsectively. Hewlkand won at four by a 6-1, 6-1 tally.
The lone Stonehill win came at number two singles as Pinasco retired with a 2-2 score due to an injury.
Tampa will now take a week off before playing host to Texas A&M University-Kingsville on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
