Tampa Picks Up 9-0 Win at Eckerd
Sophomore Emily Hewland won at number one doubles and number two singles.
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The University of Tampa (7-9, 1-7 SSC) make quick work of Sunshine State Conference opponent Eckerd College (2-16, 0-7 SSC) on Thursday.
The number-one doubles team of Kristen Mee and Emily Hewland led the way in doubles, winning 8-4. The two team of freshmen Maddie Stephens and Danielle Beyes won 8-0, as the three team of Gianna Pinasco and Cameron Moskol were victorious by an 8-4 mark.
Mee took the number-one singles match as well, winning 6-0, 6-1. Also winning in singles was Hewland, Stephens, Beyes, Bridgett Blowe and Pinasco.
Tampa will wrap up its 2016 season on Sunday at home against No. 31 Embry-Riddle. The match will start at 11 a.m., at the Naimoli & Young Family Tennis Complex at UT.
