Tampa Tennis Sweeps Bates
ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Tampa Spartans faced off against the Bates College Bobcats in a neutral site match. With perfect playing conditions, the Spartans were outstanding playing at the USTA National Tennis Center. Tampa swept Bates, winning all nine matches in a compelling victory for the Spartans.

Ekaterina Grib defeated Bate's #1 singles Hannah Sweeney via a "double-bagel" (6-0, 6-0) victory.

Vanina Iordanova and Lilley Nice won 6-0, 6-0 in the third doubles position.

Both #1 and #2 doubles were victorious 6-4.

Savannah Williams, Corbin Dorsey, and Lilley Nice (#2, #3, and #4 singles) all won their matches with identical scores. They dominated their opponents 6-1, 6-1.

- The Spartans handed the Bobcats their first loss of the season.
Up Next: Tampa faces #18 Florida Southern College tomorrow (Wednesday February, 19) in a Sunshine State Conference match. UT and FSC faced off in the UT Invitational (1/31-2/2) to start the season. The two teams split matches across both doubles and singles making for a competitive contest. Tampa is looking for both its first top 25 and SSC victory of the season. The Spartans look to defeat the Mocs for the first time in 17 years.
