Weekend Preview: Spartans Hit the Road this Weekend with Two SSC Matchups

Sunday, Feb. 26th, 11:00 A.M. vs. No. 18 Embry-Riddle @Crotty Tennis Complex
Tampa come fresh off a victory Sunday, Feb 19th against Eckerd College.
SSC Teams with National Rankings: No. 16 Tampa, No. 18 Embry-Riddle
Tampa Spartan's Women's Tennis: (1-2, 1-1 SSC), 5th in the SSC
Tampa
- Sweeping Eckerd 7-0 in their meet, the Spartans are confident coming into this away stretch. Nearly all of the Spartan players won their singles matches in straight sets, especially, Anine Wilberg, Raquel Amaro, Aleks Topalovic, & Rebecca Presley who evenly leveled their singles match records at .500. With a Nova Southeastern loss this weekend, victories against Tampa, Palm Beach Atlantic would elevate the Spartans to No. 3 in the SSC.
Palm Beach Atlantic
- Conceding a loss to Keiser University (7-0), the Sailfish seek a redmeption opportunity on their home court against the Tampa Spartans. Svea Crohn leads the team in singles with a 2-2 record. In her last match, Crohn lost in straight sets, (6-0,6-0). Overall the team's winning perecentage for single's is .250 with a whopping 2-10 (.167) record. Currently ninth ranked in the SSC conferences with no win conferences wins (0-2), the Sailfish look forward to this weekend to prove themselves.
Embry-Riddle
- Recently losing to No. 2 ranked Nova Southeastern in a crucial match, 4-3. Although, the Eagles split singles 3-3 against the Sharks, Nova's doubles win gave them the edge to win the meet and remain undefeated. The Eagles are ranked last in the SSC wins, no conference and only one non-conference win on the season. They will verse Eckerd College Saturday, Feb. 25th, before versing Tampa on Sunday, the 26th.
