No. 6 Tampa Fall to No. 13 Lynn; End Win Streak in SSC Matchup
Boca Raton, Fla- The No. 6 University of Tampa Women's Tennis team traveled to Boca Raton, Fla Saturday morning where they faced No. 13 Lynn University Fighting Knights. This would be the first SSC matchup for the Spartans since Feb. 26th against No. 31 Embry-Riddle University.

How it happened:
In the Tampa's first return to the Sunshine State Conference, they would have a tough matchup to face. On Court 3, Lynn's Pigato/Cibakova shutout Toapalovic/Presley, 6-0 to take the lead. On the main court, the nationally ranked matchup, No. 16 Podbiol/Schieroni vs. No. 17 Amaro/Sanchez concluded with 6-3 upset win by No. 17 Amaro/Sanchez to even the score. Court 2 would be the decider for who would get the first point in the match. Tampa's Wilberg/Sanchez got the upperhand against Djoubri/Younes, 6-4 in a well-fought out match. | 1-0 (TAMPA).
Onto singles, where the Spartans strived to continue their flow. Lynn, being the underdogs in this match, sought to use that notion to their advantage with Zofia Podbiol on Court 5, closing out Anine Wilberg in straight-sets (6-4, 6-4). | 1-1. Then on Court 3, No. 22 Kristen Younes (LYNN) defeated Savannah Williams (6-0, 7-5) to give the Fighting Knights the lead for the first time in the match. | 2-1 (LYNN). Court 2 wrapped up shortly after with yet another Lynn victory having No. 67 Victoria Sanchez fall to No. 28 Greta Schieroni, 6-2, 7-5. | 3-1 (LYNN). The main court consisted of No. 25 Salma Djoubri facing No. 18 Raquel Amaro. Amaro dropped the first set 6-4, and was trailing 6-5 late in the second. Djoubri would close out winnig the last game (7-5) to get the upset victory and extend the lead to three. | 4-1 (LYNN). Courts 4 & 6 were forced to a final set after, Aleks Topalovic won the first (6-4), but dropped the second round (6-3) and Rebecca Presley did vise versa. However, Barbora Cibakova (LYNN) wrapped up Court 6 taking the final set against Presley, 6-1. | 5-1 (LYNN). Then, Lynn's Giorgia Pigato finished Topalovic in the final set, 6-4 to give Lynn the victory after dropping two consecutive matches. | 6-1 (Tampa). Lynn ends Tampa's nine-match win streak ans extend their all-time matchup record against to 29-0.
