No. 12 Embry Riddle Ended No. 18 Tampa's Winning Streak In SSC Matchup

Tampa, Fla- The No. 18 University of Tampa tennis team played at home against No. 12 Embry Riddle Saturday at noon, in a Sunshine State Conference matchup.

How it Happened: 

The Spartans were victorious in their efforts to shutout the Eagles in doubles to earn the first point of the match. Then, when singles transpired, and early finish to Court 5 resulted in a victory for Kristina Miletic. With a two point lead for No. 18 Tampa, No. 12 Embry Riddle began their comeback. On Court 4, Carla Cabero (ERAU) defeated Nicole Cierniak in straight sets. However, on court 6, Rebecca Presley gave the Spartans their third point of the game winning 6-3, 6-1. Then, Maja Issler (ERAU) defeated Victoria Sanchez on Court 2 to give the second point to the Eagles. On Court 1, Julie Ball won the first set, however dropped the next two to tie the match at three points. Within one more to clinch the match, Laura Cuesta (ERAU) defeated Savannah Williams to seal the victory.
