THE SPARTANS CONCLUDE THEIR REGULAR SEASON WITH THE BEST RECORD IN PROGRAM HISTORY

TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 9 University of Tampa tennis team hosted their last match of the regular season against Keiser University, Thursday afternoon. 

Final: No. 9 University of Tampa Spartans 4 , Keiser University Seahawks 3

Records: No. 9 University of Tampa Spartans (15-3) , Keiser University Seahawks (14-5)

How it Happened: 

Doubles began with Cierniak/Miletic on Court 2 beating their opponents 6-1. However, the Seahawks got the first point of the match winning on Court 1 and 3. Onto singles where seniors, Victoria Sanchez played on Court 2, and Anine Wilberg played on Court 5. Both seniors were honored for "Senior Day" prior to the match starting. Furthermore, the Spartans made a comeback during singles starting off with Rebecca Presley defeating Florencia Araya (KU) to tie the score at one. While that match concluded, No. 32 Julie Ball snagged a victory against Violet Apisah (KU) who retired in the second set; the Spartans now regained the lead (2-1). Tampa leveled the score with Savannah Williams defeating Yeva Kononovych (KU) in straight sets (3-1). Following, after losing the first set, Wilberg tried to rally back on Court 5 against Isabella Perez (KU), but couldn't execute the objective, resulting in Keiser a second point (3-2). With only one more match for Tampa to close it out, Victoria Sanchez executed for her team, defeating Patricia Apisah (KU) in straight sets (4-2). Finally, Kristina Miletic splitted sets, but couldn't close the decisive tiebreaker (4-3).

• Miletic finish reg. season: 11-2 in Singles. 
• Spartans finish reg. season with the best record in program history.
• Spartans won six-consecutive matches heading into SSC playoffs.
