#1 Spartans Avoid Scare Against Lynn
TAMPA, Fla. - The top-ranked University of Tampa volleyball team rebounded from a game one loss to register a 3-1 victory over visiting Lynn University. The Spartans improve to 18-1 with the victory and remain the lone undefeated Sunshine State Conference team at 7-0 in league play. Lynn falls to 11-7 and 3-5 in conference.
After losing the first game 30-27, Tampa won game two 30-28, then used a seven point rally in the third game to record a 30-14 pull away victory in the game. Tampa then closed out the match with a 30-25 effort in the fourth game.
Katelen Dixon and Erin Clark led Tampa with 19 kills apiece as Dixon recorded 47 attacks on the match. Alisha Green also added 12 kills for the Spartans to go with a .455 hitting percentage. Gabriela Saade had a team-high 48 assists.
A total of four UT players had double figure digs, led by 25 for Margeaux Sinibaldi. Camila and Gabriela Saade had 15 apiece as Dixon chipped in 12. UT also recorded 14.5 blocks compared to four by the Fighting Knights. Clark led UT with seven as Green had four.
Tampa returns to action on Friday when it hosts Barry. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., at the Martinez Center.
